Academic Resource/ Strategy 1: Academic Databases
Academic Databases – One of the resources that I think would be very useful in my MSN program are academic databases provided in the School’s resources. Academic databases that contain journals and other academic reports such as ProQuest, EBSCOhost, and JSTOR, among others could help me in both my academic research and for finding Evidence-based Practices (EBPs) (Phillips et al., 2019).

Academic Resource/ Strategy 2
Internet – Almost every information could already be found in the internet. With a simple search in any search engine, a student could have almost every answer to his questions. Nonetheless, since MSNs must always base their knowledge on academic and proven information, I would most likely use the internet to find “general ideas” about nursing issues or topics that I could pursue (Shayan et al., 2019).

Create a workflow diagram of clinical and non-clinical data within an inpatient electronic medical record system. Include the departments for which this data would be captured and stored. For instance, chest x-ray reports would be captured in radiology department. You need to have a minimum of at least 10 data points. Make sure to explain the role of all data points. It is important that your data flows throughout your workflow diagram. For instance, you would not want your first data point to be the chest x-ray/radiology, then the next data point to be admissions (admission data would need to come first). You can create your workflow diagram using any workflow tool such as Smart Draw and Microsoft Word. You can also use PowerPoint if you prefer. SLP Assignment Expectations Provide a workflow diagram of clinical and non-clinical data within an inpatient EHR. You need to have at least 10 data points with the associated department for which the data is collected/stored. Provide an introduction and conclusion paragraph where you discuss the importance of these data points. Your references and citations should be consistent with a particular formatting style such as APA. Provide references from at least 2 scholarly articles (peer-reviewed). Do not include information from non-scholarly materials such as wikis, encyclopedias. Your workflow diagram must be a visual or graphical representation of the interaction of processes and/or how information (data) flows through an electronic medical record system. Assignment 1: The Annotated Bibliography – Due Week 3 Project Overview: For this project, you’ll choose a food or drink item, a cuisine, an invention, or an idea, and then research how four geographic concepts are related to and affect your topic. Instead of presenting your research as a traditional paper, you’ll use PowerPoint to create a narrated presentation. Your presentation will be structured like a paper, including a title, introduction to the topic, main body, summary and conclusions, and references. Creative use of properly cited graphics and photos from the Internet relevant to your topic is required. First, choose a food item, cuisine, invention, or idea that interests you. Some will have more information available about them than others, so it’s worth doing some investigation before you settle on one. If you’re not sure if your desired topic is appropriate, please feel free to ask! Once you have selected your topic, you will then do research to see how each of the following geographic concepts affects or is related to your topic:1. Regions 2. Cultural Landscape 3. Diffusion 4. Distance decay. The first two concepts are covered in the first chapter of your textbook. Diffusion is covered in Chapter 8, Section 2 (page 484). Distance decay refers to the fact that influence and interaction between locations decreases as the distance between them increases. As such, it has a significant influence on how things change as they diffuse away from their point of origin. Be sure to address these specific geographic terms and concepts in your work. You don’t need to address them in this order, but you do need to address all of them. You may use “subsets” of these definitions (e.g. contagious diffusion) if such subsets exist. Be sure to refer to your text and other reliable resources to ensure you completely understand these concepts. You should be detailed in your treatment of these concepts – for instance, you should explain both how and why your choice varies by region, and how and why it has been affected by distance decay. Remember that geography, as an academic discipline, seeks to explain why things vary from place to place, not just describe how they do. You will complete this project in 3 separate assignments: an annotated bibliography, an outline, and your final presentation. In this assignment, you will complete your annotated bibliography. Completing the project in separate assignments allows you to work your way up to the final presentation, and provides opportunity for feedback along the way. Assignment Objective: Assess sources for your research for your final presentation (for credibility, reliability, and relevance) and list references in proper APA format through the creation of an annotated bibliography. Assignment Instructions: An annotation is a summary and evaluation, and your annotated bibliography will include a summary and evaluation of some of the sources (or references) you will use for your presentation. To prepare for this assignment, I recommend that you do the following: Read these directions carefully. Review the sample annotated bibliography provided to you below. Read the grading criteria below. The grading criteria is a detailed evaluation that I will use to assess your performance. It also will help you understand what is expected you as you prepare your assignment. Message me with any questions! The reason the annotated bibliography is included as part of the research project is that writing an annotated bibliography provides excellent preparation for the final presentation. One of the issues regarding any type of research is the credibility of the sources used, particularly those obtained from various websites. By forcing you to evaluate your potential sources carefully, the annotated bibliography helps you determine if the sources you chose are credible and relevant to your topic. It will also help you understand the topic better, which will help you develop your presentation. For this project, you will assess three sources to include: 1) a complete citation for each source, 2) a summary of each source, and 3) an evaluation of each source. Three sources are required for this assignment (i.e., you are to write an annotation for each source). However, you must use five or more sources in your final presentation. Use the TEMPLATE below to summarize and evaluate each of your three sources. Citation: Written in APA reference list format. For more help with formatting, see APA handout Summary: What is the purpose of the source, review article, original research? What topics are covered? This section is generally 3-5 sentences that summarize the author’s main point. For more help, see this link on paraphrasing sources. Evaluation: After summarizing the article (or research paper or book), it is necessary to evaluate it and state where you found it – its source (e.g.,journal, website, etc.). Briefly answer the following questions in 3-5 sentences: What is the format or type of source (e.g., peer-reviewed journal paper, website, book)? How reliable is the information in the article, and how credible is the source (e.g., website’s sponsoring organization, journal or book publisher) and the author(s)? For more help, see this handout on evaluating resources. Additional Resources: Please see the resources below at The Owl at Purdue site for more information on how to write an annotated bibliography as well as other pages on the site to assist you with the other parts of the research paper: Annotated Bibliographies Annotated Bibliography Example Annotated Bibliography Samples Evaluation: Please review the Annotated Bibliography Grading Criteria below that describes how your annotated bibliography will be graded. Software: As an APUS student, you have free access to Microsoft Office for both Windows and MacOS, which includes Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Submission Instructions: You must submit your Annotated Bibliography as a “Microsoft Word” document using the template provided (rather than a Word Pad, Works, etc. document) AND title your file name as FirstInitialLastname_Assign1.doc. Browse for the file you want to submit by clicking Add a File. You can attach files from your local computer or storage device, a personal locker, a group locker, or Brightspace ePortfolio. Enter any comments you want to submit with the file. Click Submit. add: Hey please feel free to switch the topic if you can research something better! I would for it to stay a cuisine preferably i.e curry, pasta Please write about a particular cuisine with respect to the 4 areas in the instruction

It’s a concert report and here is the requirement: “The objective of this paper is to connect what you hear during the concert to the content of the course and your own personal/cultural experiences, and to also attempt to express in words your general reaction to the music. You may describe how the music “made you feel,” but always follow up that statement with why you believe the music made you feel that way. In a similar vein, stay away from subjective comments concerning whether you liked or disliked the music, and instead use the information we’ve discussed during the course to make informed statement about the music itself. You are also encouraged to take notes during the performances if possible (only with pen and paper, absolutely not with a laptop) and, more importantly, research the pieces being performed before you attend the concert. You can then ask yourself, among other questions, are the pieces being performed indicative of the time period in which they were composed? A piece composed in the 1700’s probably won’t have the same aural properties as a piece composed in 2018. Why is that? The most important thing to do during a concert is to ask the question: why? If the chorus of a song gets you really excited, or if the slow movement of a sonata “sounds” morose, try to identify what it is about the collection of sounds that works or doesn’t work using the information we’ve learned in class. Sometimes you may be able to identify the exact reasons a passage has certain aural properties, but sometimes you won’t, in which case you should either try to make an educated guess as to what the music is “doing,” or try to make an educated guess on why you perceive the piece a certain way.” Try to use some music vocabulary in this report, like “dynamic”, “Tempo”, “Major key or minor key”

Readings: Zadie Smith, Joy Helen Rosner, Christ in the Garden of Endless Breadsticks In ‘Joy, Smith invites us to rethink the experience of ‘pleasure’ and ‘joy’ and argues that the experience of joy is central to the human experience. In the first paper, I would like you to put Smith’s theory of joy to work, determining whether it can help us understand the appeal of ‘The Olive Garden’ as discussed by Rosner. To what extent can we use Smith’s understanding of ‘joy’ and ‘pleasure’ to rethink the ‘agonies and ecstasies’ of the Olive Garden? How might Rosner’s view of the Olive Garden help refine or complicate Smith’s understanding of joy? Additional questions you might want to consider: Are there moments of ‘joy’ in Rosner’s discussion of eating at The Olive Garden? In what way do they conform to ‘joy’? In what way are they different? How could this be related to Gaugin’s painting? For Smith, joy has a complicated process. Is there something similar at the Olive Garden? Is the experience of eating food always simply a pleasure? Does Rosner offer a more positive version of what Smith calls ‘joy’? A more negative one? Smith often refers to pleasure as a release from anxiety. What is the role of anxiety in both essays?

In this assignment you will write an autobiographical essay about your own gender identity. Questions you should consider addressing include: ● What gender were you assigned at birth? Who decided? Based on what information did they make the decision? How did your parents feel about your sex/gender? What expectations did they have of you and your life based on what sex you were assigned at birth? One thing you could do is talk to (in person or over the phone) the people who were there when you were born and ask them about this. ● How do you think your life would have been different if you had been born a different sex/gender? ● What was your gender socialization like during early childhood? When is the first time you became aware of your gender or can remember thinking “I am a boy.” or “I am a girl.” Where were you? How did you find out you were a boy/girl? What did you think of it? ● What were the main gender milestones throughout your life? What were the defining moments of your gender? When you think of your own gender identity, what are the specific memories that you have and why are they meaningful to you? ● What are the things you feel like you have to/must do because of your gender identity? What are you required to do? What are you not allowed to do? What parts of your gender identity do you like? What parts do you dislike and why? Are there things you wish you could do that you can’t/don’t do because of your gender? ● Are there ways that you are gender-nonconforming? How? Why? ● In what ways is your gender stereotypical? How? Why? ● How are you treated because of your gender? What are aspects of this treatment do you like/dislike? ● What choices do you make about your gender? How do you do your gender? What kind of man or woman (or other) are you? What kind of man/woman/other do you want to or try to be? What aspects of your gender are important to you? ● What roles do you play in your life because of what your gender is? ● Whose gender do you admire (this could be someone you know in your life or a famous person or a character — whatever) — why do you admire it? ● How is your gender influenced by other aspects of your identity (e.g. your race, sexuality, age, culture, religion, ethnicity, etc)? Formatting guidelines: 5-10 double-spaced pages 12 pt font, not bold, not italicized, Times New Roman or Arial or Calibri or Garamond. Use headings that break your paper into sections. You have a lot of freedom in how you organize it. You should decide which of the above questions are most interesting to you, what stories you want to tell, in what order, etc. I’d say just start writing and see what happens. After you draft it, read what you have written and then write an introduction telling the reader (me) what’s to come. Be brave. Get creative. Tell stories. Use concepts that we have learned in the course. Tie readings or films into your essay about yourself. I.e. describe parts of this course (or others) that have impacted the way that you think about your own gender identity. This is really an essay about you — but lean on course materials where it is useful or helpful. I encourage you to be vulnerable and personal but obviously don’t disclose anything you’re not willing to share with me.

The practice of health care providers at all levels brings you into contact with people from a variety of faiths. This calls for knowledge and acceptance of a diversity of faith expressions. The purpose of this paper is to complete a comparative ethical analysis of George’s situation and decision from the perspective of two worldviews or religions: Christianity and a second religion of your choosing. For the second faith, choose a faith that is unfamiliar to you. Examples of faiths to choose from include Sikh, Baha’i, Buddhism, Shintoism, etc. In your comparative analysis, address all of the worldview questions in detail for Christianity and your selected faith. Refer to Chapter 2 of Called to Care for the list of questions. Once you have outlined the worldview of each religion, begin your ethical analysis from each perspective. In a minimum of 1,500-2,000 words, provide an ethical analysis based upon the different belief systems, reinforcing major themes with insights gained from your research, and answering the following questions based on the research: How would each religion interpret the nature of George’s malady and suffering? Is there a “why” to his disease and suffering? (i.e., is there a reason for why George is ill, beyond the reality of physical malady?) In George’s analysis of his own life, how would each religion think about the value of his life as a person, and value of his life with ALS? What sorts of values and considerations would each religion focus on in deliberating about whether or not George should opt for euthanasia? Given the above, what options would be morally justified under each religion for George and why? Finally, present and defend your own view. Support your position by referencing at least three academic resources (preferably from the GCU Library) in addition to the course readings, lectures, the Bible, and the textbooks for each religion. Each religion must have a primary source included. A total of six references are required according to the specifications listed above. Incorporate the research into your writing in an appropriate, scholarly manner. I chose Buddhism as a religion for comparison in this assignment. Make sure to Include references from the Bible , New World Translation and address each requirement on the instructions. The Case Study was uploaded as a PDF doc. Thank you very much for your help

This is a paper that offers a clear and compelling argument that serves to analyze, clarify, criticize, or compare one text/author with another. It moves beyond the terminology used by the author to offer an explanation, in more concrete terms, of what the author means. It elucidates the connection between various concepts/variables. For example, what exactly is meant by a “political economy” approach to the study of the Arab uprisings? How does that approach relate to the theories of revolution we have studied in this course? (For example, how does this approach relate to the “social psychological” concept of “relative deprivation,” or to the Marxist notion of “class conflict”?) Or, what does Bellin mean by “Robustness of Authoritarianism” in the Arab world? What are the key differences between her 2004 and 2012 argument? How does her argument relate to the political economy approach offered by Cammett et al.? In responding to these questions, you first need to provide an argument in your first paragraph, then proceed to parse that argument out in subsequent paragraphs. An A-paper may also be one that offers a criticism of the author’s argument, though it must provide a fair and accurate portrayal of that argument, and recognize how the author could potentially respond to the criticism.
