Option #1: Differences in Hearts
Each person has a unique set of circumstances that lead to a unique heart, but there are some trends where we see consistent similarities. For example, how does a runner’s heart perform differently from that of the average non-runner? How do infant’s hearts work differently from adult hearts? Is there a difference in male and female hearts? Pick any two groups of people that interest you (they do not have to be one of the groups just mentioned) to compare for this assignment.
Address the following points in your paper:
1) Describe the function of the heart.
2) Trace the flow of blood through the heart to the rest of the body.
3) Describe what a healthy heart sounds like; what a healthy heart rate is; and what a healthy blood pressure is.
4) Compare and contrast heart sounds, heart rate, and blood pressure in the two groups of focus for your paper.
5) Are the sounds, heart rate, and blood pressure in these groups of people healthy, or is there a problem? Explain.
6) What was most interesting about comparing these two groups?
Essay Requirements:
Your cohesive and well-organized essay should be at least 1-2 pages in length, double spaced.
Include at least one scholarly reference in addition to the course textbook. The CSU-Global Library is a good place to find these references.
Include a title page and a references page.
Follow the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA.

An Examination of the Heart – From the Micro to the Macro Level
Your Name

April 3, 2018

The heart is perhaps the most crucial of all organs in the body. It pumps blood throughout the body, which then supplies all the necessary nutrients and resources to keep the body’s functioning.
Generally, blood enters the heart through two major veins, which are the superior and inferior vena cava. To start off with, the oxygen-poor blood, which comes from the parts of the body is emptied into the right atrium of the heart. Through a series of contractions, the blood from the right atrium passes through the tricuspid valve and flows into the right ventricle that is below it. As it fills with blood, the tricuspid valve shuts down while the pulmonic valve opens up in order to allow the next contraction to push the blood forward into the pulmonary artery and towards the lungs where it is oxygenated. After the lungs, the blood passes through the pulmonary veins that that transfers the blood into the left atrium of the heart. Another series of contractions then transfers the blood into the left ventricle, which flows through the tricuspid valve. Afterwards, this blood then goes through the aorta to be distributed to every part of the body, thus completing the cycle.

For the average adult, a healthy heart sound is produced via the sequence of closing the atrioventricular valve and the semilunar valves during each heartbeat. These heart sound are called the lub (first heart sound – S¬1) and dup (second heart sound – S2), respectively. Counting these sequence, would then tell us about the number of heartbeat (lub and dup) per minute. According to the Laskowski (2015), the healthy heart rate for an adult is about 60-100 beats per minute while active, or at least 40 when inactive, whereas the healthy blood pressure should be 120/80 mmHg or 140/90 mmHg.

Locate an example of a policy or guideline from an external source to a healthcare organization. Explain how this policy or guideline may be a constraint to a healthcare organization’s planning, or how it may shape the healthcare organization’s philosophy. For example, given that the American Academy of Pediatrics offers guidelines on child vaccinations, these guidelines might impact the ability of the healthcare organization to deliver services to newborns and infants. Using a similar example, as well as the characteristics of effective plans as your framework, discuss how proper planning can help organizations in their future decision making. Guided Response: Review several of your classmates’ posts. Provide a substantive response to at least two of your peers.  In commenting on the policies that your classmates have presented, describe the relationship between the political environment and health care decision making.  Why are they so interconnected?

We need to research and write about a biological influence and psychological/social influence on a chosen facet of sexuality. I have attached a topics list to pick from. I would prefer the topic “pair bonding” but it is largely up the the writer based on the sources they find. We need to find four primary sources to cite to support our claims, two primary sources to support the biological influence on our facet of sexuality and two primary sources to support the the psychological/social influence. I’ve also attached assignment instructions and the rubric, and an APA guide.   PSYCH 204 HUMAN SEXUALITY Research Assignment Instructions Select one facet of human sexuality (e.g., sexual orientation, gender identity, attraction) and discuss BOTH of the following: • A biological influence on your chosen topic • A psychological or social influence on your chosen topic The purpose of this assignment is to help you develop insight into the biological, social, and psychological perspectives that inform issues of human sexuality. As we have seen, many topics in this course are multifaceted and have multiple influencing factors. Examples of topics and hints about what would make an appropriate topic are posted to D2L. The assignment is worth 16% of your final grade. Without approved documentation, late assignments will be penalized 10% per day, including weekends. Documentation must be submitted before the deadline to be considered. Citations You will need to cite two primary sources for the biological influence and two primary sources for the psychological/social influence, for a total of four primary sources. A primary source includes a book or a peer-reviewed journal article. Using a magazine (such as Scientific American) is not a proper peer-reviewed source and will not get you full marks. Do not use Wikipedia for your references, as Wikipedia is open to edit by anyone and is not peer-reviewed. Remember that you MUST cite every idea that you write about that is not your own. Even if you just cited the same source in the sentence before. When in doubt, include a citation. It is better to paraphrase an idea than to directly quote it – use direct quotes sparingly and only when they are really necessary for impact. Remember though that when you paraphrase it is still an idea from another source and it must be cited. Format The total assignment will be a maximum of four pages, not including your cover page and reference (i.e., up to six pages altogether including the cover page and reference page). Use Times New Roman, 12 pt font, double spaced. Use 1” margins on the page. You must follow proper APA formatting to get full marks (details about APA formatting are posted to D2L)

Please read the instruction exactly , and the citation should be the college art history coverage. In this week’s lesson, and in previous weeks, we have discussed works of art and the contexts in which they exist/are shown. How does seeing an object in its original context, and in a new (and perhaps unintended) context, change the way a work of art communicates? What, for example, is the difference between seeing a medieval altarpiece in the context of the church ( and perhaps a particular chapel) for which it was made versus seeing the same altarpiece at the Museum of Fine Arts behind glass? Or, seeing a Minimalist cube in a gallery for which it was made versus outdoors in an open-air courtyard at the Museum of Modern Art? Along with the differences, are there any similarities in the two experiences (“original” versus new settings)? Please note that the point here is not to choose a “favorite” setting (original or new), but simply to reflect on the similarities and differences in the experience of the work of art when its setting has changed. Finally, can you cite at least one example of a work of art discussed in this course in which the original setting has been changed? Discuss. Post your thoughts, following the instructions below. Your post should be two to three paragraphs long.

Discussion – Week 1 (preferred related to Psychiatric care since I work as a Psych Nurse) COLLAPSE Defining Quality As health care consumers, we all expect quality care and positive outcomes. It is important as professionals that we meet these demands of health care consumers. Consider the work of the major theorists you examined in this week’s Resources, and think about how these theories apply to your own experience as a health care customer and/or practitioner. By Day 3 Post your definition of quality, and apply it to the work of one major quality theorist (e.g., Donabedian, Juran, Deming, Triple Aim (IHI) – Berwick). Identify a practice problem that you have had some experience with as a customer or as a practitioner, and explain how eliminating wasteful practices could have improved the experience. Include how your definition of quality applies to that experience. Support your response with references from the professional nursing literature. Your posts need to be written at the capstone level (see checklist). Notes for Initial Post: A 3-paragraph (at least 350 words) response. Be sure to use evidence from the readings and include in-text citations. Utilize essay-level writing practice and skills, including the use of transitional material and organizational frames. Avoid quotes; paraphrase to incorporate evidence into your own writing. A reference list is required. Use the most current evidence (usually ≤ 5 years old). (Refer to AWE Checklist, Capstone) By Day 7 Read two or more of your colleagues’ postings from the Discussion question. Respond with a comment that asks for clarification, provides support for, or contributes additional information to two or more of your colleagues’ postings. Post a Discussion entry on three different days of the week. See the Discussion Rubric found in the Course Information area.
