Can choose between opinion piece or creative project below, please choose one first and leave a message for me. 【Opinion Piece】 Select a news story that is capturing the imagination of the world with regard to social media or one of the concepts of the course. Go through approximately three to four different articles written on the topic (e.g. on removing harmful COVID-19 related stories from Twitter, an example of which appears in the following: https://www.theverge.com/2020/4/22/21231956/twitter-remove-covid-19-tweets-call-to-action-harm-5g (Links to an external site.)) and on the basis of your readings and knowledge of course concepts, readings and online discussions, form an informed opinion as to why that particular story is of importance in our society. You may want to consider what fears and hopes it holds and heralds or what impacts it may have on our society in the short and long run. Please use references (at least TWO scholarly sources, one of which, may be from the course readings) in your opinion piece. This assignment should be around 1000 words and formatted and referenced on the basis of the MLA or APA guidelines as long as you are consistent. 【creative projects】such as a (collection) of video(s), drawings, creative photographs and/or a web design may be submitted in lieu of the opinion piece; however, these projects must be worked out in collaboration with the professor and finalized a week in advance of the due date. The projects are accompanied with a rationale of approx. 550 words. Your rationale will include the “reason-why” you decided to embark on the project; what app(s) or means you used to go about your project; what message is encoded in your project and why. It may be worth noting that most students have opted to present creative videos on youtube. Refrain from taking an easy route (e.g. photoshopping your photo) to complete this component. You must use at least ONE scholarly source in your rationale (and it can be from the course readings).

Readings for Section B: Friedman, T. L. (2017). “Chapter Two: What the Hell Happened in 2007” in Thank You for Being Late: An Optimist’s Guide to Thriving in the Age of Accelerations . Picador/Farrar Straus and Giroux.ActionsHarari, Y. (2018). “Chapter Four: Equality” in 21 Lessons for the 21st Century. New York: Random House.Actions 10. The World is Flat was published in 2005. Once Tom Friedman finished the book he thought he would be able to return to the business of being a journalist, comfortable with the ‘framework’ that he had established. Then 2007 happened and challenged his thinking. How does he explain how the year 2007 altered his “view of how the Machine worked” in his chapter “What the Hell Happened in 2007”?[I encourage you to consult a number of sources when developing your answer. For instance, Tom Friedman’s MIT Compton Lecture (Links to an external site.) [Fall 2018] and his discussion with Yuval Harari “How To Understand Our Times” (Links to an external site.) might be of utility, not just as substance for this and the following questions, but also as useful prompts to consider your own thinking on various ‘questions of our day’).] 11) Friedman draws attention to the following graph (Astro Teller graph) in his chapter “What the Hell Happened in 2007”. 11. Please explain what “we are here” actually means in this graph and using both the writings of Friedman and Harari please outline several risks of being in this position on the graph (Please be thorough with your explanation). 12. Citing Teller, Friedman argues that we are all going to need to learn the “bicycle trick”. What does he mean by this metaphor?

1. Provide an assessment of what makes Congoleum a good LBO target. 2. Evaluate the LBO proposal and determine the value of the firm if it undertakes the LBO and compare this to the existing value of the firm. Your valuation analysis (based on the assumptions above) should be the bulk of your report and serve to answer this question. Provide sensitivity analyses. 3. Quantify the incremental effects of the LBO (as compared to no LBO) on Congoleum as a whole, and attribute portions of the sizable purchase premium to: the cost savings in corporate expenses, the step-up of asset values for depreciation, and the interest tax shields. In addition, if any of the value added from the LBO is unexplained by these three factors, explain where you think this additional value may be coming from. 4. Quantify the gains/losses to the various parties involved in this deal, and render an opinion as to the appropriateness of the $38 offer price received by old shareholders. When computing the gains/losses to various parties, make sure to account for the impact of the “equity kicker”and “strip financing.”

Project Management Individual Project Management Plan Team Project – Individual Project Management Plan Please read the Team project “Project Charter Uber Tour” doc in the attachment first, Then write the individual project management plan—- focus on the Project Risk Management only 1. Introduction 2. Goals 3. Objectives 4. Roles and Responsibilities 5. Deliverables 6. For each planning process associated with the knowledge area covered by your plan (as described in class and PMBOK), describe how the process will be handled for the project. You should also list and describe the inputs, tools and techniques and outputs of the process. In PMBOK:[planning process] -Plan Risk Management -Identify Risks -Perform Qualitative Risk Analysis -Perform Quantitative Risk Analysis – Plan Risk Responses -Implement Risk Responses -Monitoring and Controlling Process Group -Monitor Risks Your plan should be written in a narrative format, providing ample description within each section. It is not sufficient to simply provide a series of bulleted lists of materials! There is no length constraint, but plans do not have to be long! You have to keep in mind also that your plan is not intended to summarize the results of analysis and responses. It is supposed to describe how the communications management processes would be executed and who would do that work. Think of your plan as providing instructions to the project team as to how to do the necessary work in this area. Do your own work and make sure you answer all the questions. It will submit on the Turnitin. Submission will be sent to Turnitin to be electronically reviewed for plagiarism.

Assignment 1: The Annotated Bibliography – Due Week 3 Project Overview: For this project, you’ll choose a food or drink item, a cuisine, an invention, or an idea, and then research how four geographic concepts are related to and affect your topic. Instead of presenting your research as a traditional paper, you’ll use PowerPoint to create a narrated presentation. Your presentation will be structured like a paper, including a title, introduction to the topic, main body, summary and conclusions, and references. Creative use of properly cited graphics and photos from the Internet relevant to your topic is required. First, choose a food item, cuisine, invention, or idea that interests you. Some will have more information available about them than others, so it’s worth doing some investigation before you settle on one. If you’re not sure if your desired topic is appropriate, please feel free to ask! Once you have selected your topic, you will then do research to see how each of the following geographic concepts affects or is related to your topic:1. Regions 2. Cultural Landscape 3. Diffusion 4. Distance decay. The first two concepts are covered in the first chapter of your textbook. Diffusion is covered in Chapter 8, Section 2 (page 484). Distance decay refers to the fact that influence and interaction between locations decreases as the distance between them increases. As such, it has a significant influence on how things change as they diffuse away from their point of origin. Be sure to address these specific geographic terms and concepts in your work. You don’t need to address them in this order, but you do need to address all of them. You may use “subsets” of these definitions (e.g. contagious diffusion) if such subsets exist. Be sure to refer to your text and other reliable resources to ensure you completely understand these concepts. You should be detailed in your treatment of these concepts – for instance, you should explain both how and why your choice varies by region, and how and why it has been affected by distance decay. Remember that geography, as an academic discipline, seeks to explain why things vary from place to place, not just describe how they do. You will complete this project in 3 separate assignments: an annotated bibliography, an outline, and your final presentation. In this assignment, you will complete your annotated bibliography. Completing the project in separate assignments allows you to work your way up to the final presentation, and provides opportunity for feedback along the way. Assignment Objective: Assess sources for your research for your final presentation (for credibility, reliability, and relevance) and list references in proper APA format through the creation of an annotated bibliography. Assignment Instructions: An annotation is a summary and evaluation, and your annotated bibliography will include a summary and evaluation of some of the sources (or references) you will use for your presentation. To prepare for this assignment, I recommend that you do the following: Read these directions carefully. Review the sample annotated bibliography provided to you below. Read the grading criteria below. The grading criteria is a detailed evaluation that I will use to assess your performance. It also will help you understand what is expected you as you prepare your assignment. Message me with any questions! The reason the annotated bibliography is included as part of the research project is that writing an annotated bibliography provides excellent preparation for the final presentation. One of the issues regarding any type of research is the credibility of the sources used, particularly those obtained from various websites. By forcing you to evaluate your potential sources carefully, the annotated bibliography helps you determine if the sources you chose are credible and relevant to your topic. It will also help you understand the topic better, which will help you develop your presentation. For this project, you will assess three sources to include: 1) a complete citation for each source, 2) a summary of each source, and 3) an evaluation of each source. Three sources are required for this assignment (i.e., you are to write an annotation for each source). However, you must use five or more sources in your final presentation. Use the TEMPLATE below to summarize and evaluate each of your three sources. Citation: Written in APA reference list format. For more help with formatting, see APA handout Summary: What is the purpose of the source, review article, original research? What topics are covered? This section is generally 3-5 sentences that summarize the author’s main point. For more help, see this link on paraphrasing sources. Evaluation: After summarizing the article (or research paper or book), it is necessary to evaluate it and state where you found it – its source (e.g.,journal, website, etc.). Briefly answer the following questions in 3-5 sentences: What is the format or type of source (e.g., peer-reviewed journal paper, website, book)? How reliable is the information in the article, and how credible is the source (e.g., website’s sponsoring organization, journal or book publisher) and the author(s)? For more help, see this handout on evaluating resources. Additional Resources: Please see the resources below at The Owl at Purdue site for more information on how to write an annotated bibliography as well as other pages on the site to assist you with the other parts of the research paper: Annotated Bibliographies Annotated Bibliography Example Annotated Bibliography Samples Evaluation: Please review the Annotated Bibliography Grading Criteria below that describes how your annotated bibliography will be graded. Software: As an APUS student, you have free access to Microsoft Office for both Windows and MacOS, which includes Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Submission Instructions: You must submit your Annotated Bibliography as a “Microsoft Word” document using the template provided (rather than a Word Pad, Works, etc. document) AND title your file name as FirstInitialLastname_Assign1.doc. Browse for the file you want to submit by clicking Add a File. You can attach files from your local computer or storage device, a personal locker, a group locker, or Brightspace ePortfolio. Enter any comments you want to submit with the file. Click Submit. add: Hey please feel free to switch the topic if you can research something better! Week 2: Measurement One of the keystone concepts in modern quality improvement science is that of measurement. An often heard management adage is “If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.” Measurement can come in many different forms, including statistics, charts, and patient satisfaction surveys. This week we begin to explore measurement in health care quality improvement, and we will be introduced to various tools used for measurement. Learning Objectives Students will: Analyze an example of quality that was measured, assessed, and improved Apply simple data collection techniques to a measurement problem Design a data collection mechanism for an aspect of quality Interpret a control chart Synthesize the purpose, methods, and findings from the evidence-based literature that relate to a practice problem Photo Credit: [Anthia Cumming]/[E+]/Getty Images Learning Resources Required Readings Spath, P. Retrieved from http://www(dot)med(dot)unc(dot)edu/cce/files/education-training/The%20run%20chart%20a%20simple%20analytical%20tool.pdf Discussion: Applying Measurement Tools One example of a measurement tool is the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) comprehensive care measures. Review the eight components of HEDIS comprehensive diabetes care; then consider the following scenario. You are a staff nurse working in a private primary care practice. It is a small practice with 2 MDs (internists), 2 nurses, 1 medical assistant, and an office staff for billing. There are approximately 1,000 patients in the practice. You have had no EHR until the last year, but all charts are manual, historically. Your physicians are starting to inquire about quality incentives, particularly regarding patients with diabetes. By Day 3 Take on the role of the staff nurse in the scenario, and post an explanation of how you would go about finding out how many diabetics are in your practice and how many meet all 8 components of HEDIS comprehensive diabetes care. Support your response with references from the professional nursing literature. Your posts need to be written at the capstone level (see checklist). Notes Initial Post: This should be a 3-paragraph (at least 350 words) response. Be sure to use evidence from the readings and include in-text citations. Utilize essay-level writing practice and skills, including the use of transitional material and organizational frames. Avoid quotes; paraphrase to incorporate evidence into your own writing. A reference list is required. Use the most current evidence (usually ≤ 5 years old). (Refer to AWE Checklist, Capstone) By Day 7 Read two or more of your colleagues’ postings from the Discussion question. Respond to two or more of your colleagues’ postings with a critique of their data mechanisms. Explain whether the data mechanism is practical, how long it might take, any alternatives you might suggest, and/or any electronic data collection possibilities that might apply. Post a Discussion entry on three different days of the week. See the Discussion Rubric found in the Course Information area.
