Your task this week is to choose your favorite course concept or term that we’ve covered thus far. You might choose a term that you find particularly interesting, something that you didn’t know before, something that’s a little unique…whatever you want. The only term you cannot choose for this exercise is “globalization.” Anything else is fair game.
Once you’ve chosen your term or concept, I’d like you to create a meme that reflects the concept. Include your meme in your post. Then, briefly (in one paragraph) explain your meme. Why did you pick this term, what are you trying to convey in your meme. Be original and creative. You won’t be able to see your classmates posts until you post so duplicate concepts will not be penalized. Your meme and explanation paragraph must be your original work.

I chose the term ‘Free Trade’ to create this meme. Free trade is generally defined as an economic model wherein the government imposes no tariffs on imports and exports.

Accordingly, the reason why I chose this meme is that it reflects both the concept of free trade and provides a representation of how some politicians deal with money.

Write the event with the understanding that person you chose may see, hear, smell, touch, taste the same things as the original character, but he/she will notice different aspects of these same details, and tbear in mind that this new character may understand the events in a different way. Pretend you are the character in your retelling. Use the pronoun “I.” Use as many details as you can to keep the story authentic.

You will be expected to find current news articles pertaining to the current topics in the Strategy course and to describe issues related to the 3C’s and 4P’s. Most often, firms that are in the news are in the news for a “bad” reason – they’ve made a mistake and lost customer support which has led to declining purchases, negative word of mouth, etc. Using the week’s relevant material, I’d like for you to: 1. Tell me what the problem is (the firm is experiencing problems because…..) 2. Suggest 1-2 reasons for why the firm might be struggling (e.g., the firm is struggling because it produced a product that is inconsistent with the brand image or the firm is struggling because a competitor produced a better product) 3. Propose a reasonable way forward (i.e., what the firm can do to mitigate losses or to recover from losses in profits). By “reasonable,” I mean a solution the firm could actually implement in order to improve. This recommendation should be specific (not, “I recommend the firm research what consumers want or the firm needs to advertise on social media) and should follow logically from your analysis on the first two points. Full marks will be awarded to assignments with a specific, logical plan of action that makes sense given potential budget constraints. If you recommend overly expensive social media or advertising campaigns without considering the firm’s budget and resources, your recommendation is likely to be considered one that is superficial. That is, your recommendation should be feasible and reasonable, especially given the current economic climate with tight budgets. Your assignment should be no more than 2 pages, double spaced, 12 point font. If you prefer to write less, that is fine as long as you answer the questions put forth above. You will complete four of these assignments and I will drop your lowest score. Because of this policy, I will not accept late submissions. Perhaps unsurprisingly components 2 and 3 above are the most important parts of the assignment and will be weighed most heavily. All material should come from current issues in the news – I do not want you focusing on problems firms faced and “solved” a year ago, I want you to focus on the issues of that week. Trusted news sources include many major media outlets (WSJ, Financial Times, NY Times) as well as marketing trade publications (American Marketing Association, AdWeek). Please avoid using opinion pieces for the basis as they are not held to the same standards of journalistic integrity and might be biased. I will provide feedback on your written assignments – as such, they might take some time to grade, especially if I am unable to access consistent childcare during the pandemic (1-2 weeks). Please keep this in mind.

Choose two objects in the current chapters in your textbook that are thematically related (landscapes, portraits, religious subjects, historical monuments, etc.). Write an essay of at least 450 words using 12 point font and double-spaced text) comparing the formal treatment and iconography of each work. Be sure to identify each object by indicating the artist, title, and date of production. Your essay should address how similarities and differences contribute to your understanding of each work’s meaning or artistic significance. You should analyze these points: stylistic choices (e.g., abstract, naturalistic, idealistic, realistic), function or symbolism of the pieces (What were they used for? Do they communicate a message? Are they sacred or secular works of art), cultural context (e.g., how might the way of life at the time and place the pieces were created affected their function and style? Do historical events relate to the image or story depicted?). In addition, I expect you to refer to the course readings, including the primary readings I uploaded to BlackBoard, in the essays. You must cite at least one source that is not our text book. Use Chicago-Turabian style notation for any sources that you need to document as references in footnotes. Double-space your text and list your name and the date in the header on the first page. In almost all cases, you should italicize the title of a work of art. Consult the Chicago-Turabian sample essay I provided you for more information concerning formatting. Include at least two illustrations. Submit your text in DOC, DOCX or PDF format. Due Friday night, 11:59 p.m. Use two objects which I uploaded two different self-portrait to compare. THANK YOU! I expect you to refer to the course readings, including the primary readings I uploaded to BlackBoard, in the essays. You must cite at least one source that is not our text book.” The source is that I uploaded two PDF files which is class 03 and class 04. If you want it, you can use it.

This week you will begin work on your final project. Your final project will be counted as your final exam and will consist of preparing a Global Business Plan. A link to the outline is provided below: This class strives to provide you with papers/projects that relate to real-world expectations. You will first choose a product or service (not both) and one country. This plan is specifically written for one product or service and one country – no comparison or contrasting! After you have read the guidelines, write a few paragraphs which summarize your final project idea. Submit this by the normal time on Monday but earlier would be better! Please contact me if you have any questions regarding a product/service and/or a country of choice. Take Note: for this assignment, you need to select a topic and country selection. This is for a new market entry, for a product or service, that does not yet exist in that market. This is not research of an existing product. iPhone already exists in the US and globally(WRONG). The country selection should be a country you are not familiar. Also, the product/service you select should ultimately meet the needs of the consumers in that market. If you would like to select the iPhone 12 PRO, I need you to select and profile a country where it does not yet exist.

James Lee Hymes (1913-1998), an American “psychologist-educator” in his own words, wrote: “Play for young children is not recreation activity. It is not leisure-time activity nor escape activity. Play is thinking time for young children. It is language time. Problem-solving time. It is memory time, planning time, investigating time. It is organization-of-ideas time, when the young child uses his mind and body and his social skills and all his powers in response to the stimuli he has met.” To what extent can we relate this quotation to second language acquisition/ learning? Can choose between opinion piece or creative project below, please choose one first and leave a message for me. 【Opinion Piece】 Select a news story that is capturing the imagination of the world with regard to social media or one of the concepts of the course. Go through approximately three to four different articles written on the topic (e.g. on removing harmful COVID-19 related stories from Twitter, an example of which appears in the following: https://www.theverge.com/2020/4/22/21231956/twitter-remove-covid-19-tweets-call-to-action-harm-5g (Links to an external site.)) and on the basis of your readings and knowledge of course concepts, readings and online discussions, form an informed opinion as to why that particular story is of importance in our society. You may want to consider what fears and hopes it holds and heralds or what impacts it may have on our society in the short and long run. Please use references (at least TWO scholarly sources, one of which, may be from the course readings) in your opinion piece. This assignment should be around 1000 words and formatted and referenced on the basis of the MLA or APA guidelines as long as you are consistent. 【creative projects】such as a (collection) of video(s), drawings, creative photographs and/or a web design may be submitted in lieu of the opinion piece; however, these projects must be worked out in collaboration with the professor and finalized a week in advance of the due date. The projects are accompanied with a rationale of approx. 550 words. Your rationale will include the “reason-why” you decided to embark on the project; what app(s) or means you used to go about your project; what message is encoded in your project and why. It may be worth noting that most students have opted to present creative videos on youtube. Refrain from taking an easy route (e.g. photoshopping your photo) to complete this component. You must use at least ONE scholarly source in your rationale (and it can be from the course readings).

The practice of health care providers at all levels brings you into contact with people from a variety of faiths. This calls for knowledge and acceptance of a diversity of faith expressions. The purpose of this paper is to complete a comparative ethical analysis of George’s situation and decision from the perspective of two worldviews or religions: Christianity and a second religion of your choosing. For the second faith, choose a faith that is unfamiliar to you. Examples of faiths to choose from include Sikh, Baha’i, Buddhism, Shintoism, etc. In your comparative analysis, address all of the worldview questions in detail for Christianity and your selected faith. Refer to Chapter 2 of Called to Care for the list of questions. Once you have outlined the worldview of each religion, begin your ethical analysis from each perspective. In a minimum of 1,500-2,000 words, provide an ethical analysis based upon the different belief systems, reinforcing major themes with insights gained from your research, and answering the following questions based on the research: How would each religion interpret the nature of George’s malady and suffering? Is there a “why” to his disease and suffering? (i.e., is there a reason for why George is ill, beyond the reality of physical malady?) In George’s analysis of his own life, how would each religion think about the value of his life as a person, and value of his life with ALS? What sorts of values and considerations would each religion focus on in deliberating about whether or not George should opt for euthanasia? Given the above, what options would be morally justified under each religion for George and why? Finally, present and defend your own view. Support your position by referencing at least three academic resources (preferably from the GCU Library) in addition to the course readings, lectures, the Bible, and the textbooks for each religion. Each religion must have a primary source included. A total of six references are required according to the specifications listed above. Incorporate the research into your writing in an appropriate, scholarly manner. I chose Buddhism as a religion for comparison in this assignment. Make sure to Include references from the Bible , New World Translation and address each requirement on the instructions. The Case Study was uploaded as a PDF doc. Thank you very much for your help
