Understanding the relationship between different kinds of gasses and climate change is vital to reduce the repercussions of global warming. For the most part, people are aware that the increase in greenhouse gasses (i.e., CO2) is one of the primary reasons for the continuous increase in the Earth’s temperature. However, one of the debates that exist is whether water vapor would cause a parallel or even more significant repercussions as compared to CO2. This is because water vapor is more voluminous in the atmosphere and that its effect on temperature increase is more direct. Nonetheless, this article would discuss why CO2 is still a more powerful determinant of global warming.
Global Warming and Greenhouse Gasses
Water vapor is one of the gasses that cause an increase in temperature in the atmosphere. As water turns into gas and forms into clouds, the cloud cover helps trap some heat from the sun. While this might be good for maintaining livable conditions at Earth, too much cloud cover could trap more heat coming from the sun and increase the effects of global warming. In an article written by Hausfather (2008), he noted that overall humidity “66 to 85 percent of the greenhouse effect, compared to a range of 9 to 26 percent for CO2”. This is a significant difference that causes the misconception that an increase in humidity poses a more significant threat than an increase in CO2 levels.

Instructions: In this assignment you will write an autobiographical essay about your own gender identity. Questions you should consider addressing include:
● What gender were you assigned at birth? Who decided? Based on what information did they make the decision? How did your parents feel about your sex/gender? What expectations did they have of you and your life based on what sex you were assigned at birth? One thing you could do is talk to (in person or over the phone) the people who were there when you were born and ask them about this.
● How do you think your life would have been different if you had been born a different sex/gender?
● What was your gender socialization like during early childhood? When is the first time you became aware of your gender or can remember thinking “I am a boy.” or “I am a girl.” Where were you? How did you find out you were a boy/girl? What did you think of it?
● What were the main gender milestones throughout your life? What were the defining moments of your gender? When you think of your own gender identity, what are the specific memories that you have and why are they meaningful to you?
● What are the things you feel like you have to/must do because of your gender identity? What are you required to do? What are you not allowed to do? What parts of your gender identity do you like? What parts do you dislike and why? Are there things you wish you could do that you can’t/don’t do because of your gender?
● Are there ways that you are gender-nonconforming? How? Why?
● In what ways is your gender stereotypical? How? Why?
● How are you treated because of your gender? What are aspects of this treatment do you like/dislike?
● What choices do you make about your gender? How do you do your gender? What kind of man or woman (or other) are you? What kind of man/woman/other do you want to or try to be? What aspects of your gender are important to you?
● What roles do you play in your life because of what your gender is?
● Whose gender do you admire (this could be someone you know in your life or a famous person or a character — whatever) — why do you admire it?
● How is your gender influenced by other aspects of your identity (e.g. your race, sexuality, age, culture, religion, ethnicity, etc)? Formatting guidelines: 5-10 double-spaced pages 12 pt font, not bold, not italicized, Times New Roman or Arial or Calibri or Garamond. Use headings that break your paper into sections. You have a lot of freedom in how you organize it. You should decide which of the above questions are most interesting to you, what stories you want to tell, in what order, etc. I’d say just start writing and see what happens. After you draft it, read what you have written and then write an introduction telling the reader (me) what’s to come. Be brave. Get creative. Tell stories. Use concepts that we have learned in the course. Tie readings or films into your essay about yourself. I.e. describe parts of this course (or others) that have impacted the way that you think about your own gender identity. This is really an essay about you — but lean on course materials where it is useful or helpful. I encourage you to be vulnerable and personal but obviously don’t disclose anything you’re not willing to share with me. 3 pages / approx 825 words | APA | English (US) 🇺🇸 | Essay | Social Sciences | Undergraduate |

Instructions: Rennaiscience (History course)
Immanuel Kant dares you to show what you know about early modern Europe. He asks that you focus solely on the materials from this course. Kant freaks out when he reads things taken from random websites or other material not assigned in the course. The idea is to think about what we did specifically in this class. (For example, ONLY FROM TEXTBOOK LIKE THE EUROPEAN WORLD, LIVES UNCOVERED, http://www.humanrights.com/what-are-human-rights.html, http://chnm.gmu.edu/revolution/etc),
Kant politely asks that you write at least 550 to 750 words (2+ to 3 pages, typed and double-spaced) on one of the topics below (a little more is fine too). This is a thought essay but do try to have a clear thesis and provide some examples or evidence from course texts where appropriate.
1. Did life for the “average” person change in fundamental ways between 1400 and 1800? If you took the average man or woman, say a farmer/peasant, craftsperson, small-time merchant, or their wife, and compared their lives in 1400 and in 1800 how much do you think their lives had changed? What aspects of life changed the most, and what changed the least? You can think in terms of their everyday lives, their work, their leisure, their homes, their education, occupational opportunities and the like. How might they view things like religion, politics or medicine? Was the average person’s life fundamentally the same or different in important and essential ways?
You can focus on a single “type” or look at more than one but focus has advantages. Be clear about gender, status and profession as you think about this—as well as where the person lived. You can make comparisons to others whose lives might have changed more or less (in the same time period).
2. What was not modern about early modern Europe? Some scholars view the period from roughly 1400 to 1800 as marking the beginning of modernity, hence the period is called early modern. Others believe it is more useful to think of the period as an extension of earlier history, and that industrialization marks the real break toward modernity. The period did witness many changes but these do not necessarily mark out a linear movement toward modernity. So write about the ways the period was not modern.
3. By 1800 Europe had emerged “as the major driving force behind global developments.” (Kümin, 2nd ed, p 362) In what specific ways was Europe a driving force in the world by 1800? How had Europe come to play this role? What were the limitations of European influence? Be sure to include that last point and be careful to look at expansion only up to 1800 and not include the extensive colonization of the nineteenth century in your answer. 3 pages / approx 825 words | APA | Essay | History | Undergraduate |

Instructions: The practice of health care providers at all levels brings you into contact with people from a variety of faiths. This calls for knowledge and acceptance of a diversity of faith expressions.
The purpose of this paper is to complete a comparative ethical analysis of George’s situation and decision from the perspective of two worldviews or religions: Christianity and a second religion of your choosing. For the second faith, choose a faith that is unfamiliar to you. Examples of faiths to choose from include Sikh, Baha’i, Buddhism, Shintoism, etc.
In your comparative analysis, address all of the worldview questions in detail for Christianity and your selected faith. Refer to Chapter 2 of Called to Care for the list of questions. Once you have outlined the worldview of each religion, begin your ethical analysis from each perspective.
In a minimum of 1,500-2,000 words, provide an ethical analysis based upon the different belief systems, reinforcing major themes with insights gained from your research, and answering the following questions based on the research:
How would each religion interpret the nature of George’s malady and suffering? Is there a “why” to his disease and suffering? (i.e., is there a reason for why George is ill, beyond the reality of physical malady?)
In George’s analysis of his own life, how would each religion think about the value of his life as a person, and value of his life with ALS?
What sorts of values and considerations would each religion focus on in deliberating about whether or not George should opt for euthanasia?
Given the above, what options would be morally justified under each religion for George and why?
Finally, present and defend your own view.
Support your position by referencing at least three academic resources (preferably from the GCU Library) in addition to the course readings, lectures, the Bible, and the textbooks for each religion. Each religion must have a primary source included. A total of six references are required according to the specifications listed above. Incorporate the research into your writing in an appropriate, scholarly manner.
I chose Buddhism as a religion for comparison in this assignment. Make sure to Include references from the Bible , New World Translation and address each requirement on the instructions.

Instructions: In “Duet for Bear and Dog,” Sybil Rosen examines the trade-offs that have occurred as humans have created modern, “civilized” societies. Do you believe Rosen thinks that the price of civilization is too high? Compose an essay that defends your stance, referencing specific parts of the play that support your claims.
Your thesis needs to make a claim about the piece of literature itself. You should assume that your audience is familiar with the piece, so you will not include a summary. Your goal is to enrich the understanding of your audience in regard to the piece of literature you choose to explore. You do not need to create a Works Cited entry for the poem or story you are exploring. To be clear, outside sources are not required, and the primary support for your thesis should come from the piece of literature itself. 2 pages / approx 550 words | Essay | Literature & Language | MLA | Undergraduate |
