Watch at least three you tube videos of Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, and William Forsythe (a contemporary ballet choreographer) or Bill T jones.
I am providing links for three of these choreographers. Please after watching no less than six links, choose 3 in which to write about. You may as an alternative, write about one of the contemporary dance pieces that you found yourself on You- Tube. If you choose a piece from YouTube, it must be from a performance in a theatre. You may also choose one that a classmate has shared. If you choose one of these, you will still need to critique 2 from the links that I have provided. If you decide to include Bill T. Jones, you can find this on your own.
You will include in your title sentence and in the following sentences: the name of the choreographer, where did this piece take place, when it took place, what is the name of the dance piece, and why would you choose this piece to write about. If your feeling towards the piece were negative or positive, please write about that in the “Why” context. I do encourage you however to write about 3 pieces that you enjoyed.
In the next paragraph, Please describe the five elements of choreography: content, style, shape, rhythm, and space that you observed in the piece. Also include words that perhaps you may need to use a thesaurus. Find new words to describe the movement quality you observe in these pieces.
It will be helpful to perhaps do extra research on- line of the background of each choreographer. this may be placed in you introduction paragraph or in your conclusion. Please do finish this assignment with a strong sentence with your conclusion.
I will be using a rubric that will include excellent grammar, spelling, and writing skills. I will also be able to detect if you have copied and pasted in anything you send in… so please do not. This must be done in your own words only. If you need to copy anything, please write who wrote it and it must be in quotes. There will be no compromising on this. Use spell check and grammar check.
In summary, you will write a critique of three dances from 3 different choreographers.

The video I watched is a dance called ‘Echad Mi Yodea’ from Ohad Naharin’s “Decadance” / “Deca’le” for the entire family. It was conducted in Suzanne Dellal Center on April 19, 2016, according to the information provided in the video.

I selected it because it has a forceful and unnatural dancing movement that is unfamiliar to me, and it has grown on me. Because the movement and steps are violent and overdone, I have a negative impression of the work. The substance is excellent, with a compelling plot to follow; nevertheless, the style is unfamiliar to me since I am not familiar with those steps; the steps are fierce, and I detect some violence.

In this assignment you will write an autobiographical essay about your own gender identity. Questions you should consider addressing include: ● What gender were you assigned at birth? Who decided? Based on what information did they make the decision? How did your parents feel about your sex/gender? What expectations did they have of you and your life based on what sex you were assigned at birth? One thing you could do is talk to (in person or over the phone) the people who were there when you were born and ask them about this. ● How do you think your life would have been different if you had been born a different sex/gender? ● What was your gender socialization like during early childhood? When is the first time you became aware of your gender or can remember thinking “I am a boy.” or “I am a girl.” Where were you? How did you find out you were a boy/girl? What did you think of it? ● What were the main gender milestones throughout your life? What were the defining moments of your gender? When you think of your own gender identity, what are the specific memories that you have and why are they meaningful to you? ● What are the things you feel like you have to/must do because of your gender identity? What are you required to do? What are you not allowed to do? What parts of your gender identity do you like? What parts do you dislike and why? Are there things you wish you could do that you can’t/don’t do because of your gender? ● Are there ways that you are gender-nonconforming? How? Why? ● In what ways is your gender stereotypical? How? Why? ● How are you treated because of your gender? What are aspects of this treatment do you like/dislike? ● What choices do you make about your gender? How do you do your gender? What kind of man or woman (or other) are you? What kind of man/woman/other do you want to or try to be? What aspects of your gender are important to you? ● What roles do you play in your life because of what your gender is? ● Whose gender do you admire (this could be someone you know in your life or a famous person or a character — whatever) — why do you admire it? ● How is your gender influenced by other aspects of your identity (e.g. your race, sexuality, age, culture, religion, ethnicity, etc)? Formatting guidelines: 5-10 double-spaced pages 12 pt font, not bold, not italicized, Times New Roman or Arial or Calibri or Garamond. Use headings that break your paper into sections. You have a lot of freedom in how you organize it. You should decide which of the above questions are most interesting to you, what stories you want to tell, in what order, etc. I’d say just start writing and see what happens. After you draft it, read what you have written and then write an introduction telling the reader (me) what’s to come. Be brave. Get creative. Tell stories. Use concepts that we have learned in the course. Tie readings or films into your essay about yourself. I.e. describe parts of this course (or others) that have impacted the way that you think about your own gender identity. This is really an essay about you — but lean on course materials where it is useful or helpful. I encourage you to be vulnerable and personal but obviously don’t disclose anything you’re not willing to share with me.

FINAL PAPER: A single image of fashionable dress, as defined by the focus of this course, will serve as the basis for exploration and analysis of both historical style and the image itself. The image both guides and focuses the paper: a successful paper consistently analyzes the period and each category through the original image. Each paper will address somewhat different topics, but for the most part will consider cultural context, designer, artist, model, materiality, etc. This assignment builds upon the skills developed in Integrative Design Studio and Seminar. Due dates are staggered throughout the semester; each component is graded separately (late work and plagiarism policies in effect for each part). Papers are to be five pages; length assumes Times New Roman or similar font (12 points) or 250 words per page, double-spaced, with a one-inch margin on all sides, and additional footnotes, illustrations, and bibliography, with formal academic structure and language. Spelling and grammar, as well as Parsons-mandated formatting (Chicago Manual of Style, Turabian, 16th edition), will be counted toward your final grade, as well as quality and number (minimum six) of sources.

Week 2: Measurement One of the keystone concepts in modern quality improvement science is that of measurement. An often heard management adage is “If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.” Measurement can come in many different forms, including statistics, charts, and patient satisfaction surveys. This week we begin to explore measurement in health care quality improvement, and we will be introduced to various tools used for measurement. Learning Objectives Students will: Analyze an example of quality that was measured, assessed, and improved Apply simple data collection techniques to a measurement problem Design a data collection mechanism for an aspect of quality Interpret a control chart Synthesize the purpose, methods, and findings from the evidence-based literature that relate to a practice problem Photo Credit: [Anthia Cumming]/[E+]/Getty Images Learning Resources Required Readings Spath, P. (2013). Introduction to healthcare quality management (2nd ed.). Chicago, IL: Health Administration Press. Chapter 3, “Measuring Performance” (pp. 32–72) Chapter 4, “Evaluating Performance” (pp. 73–110) Yoder-Wise, P. S. (2015). Leading and managing in nursing (6th ed.). St. Louis, MO: Mosby. Retrieved from http://www(dot)med(dot)unc(dot)edu/cce/files/education-training/The%20run%20chart%20a%20simple%20analytical%20tool.pdf Discussion: Applying Measurement Tools One example of a measurement tool is the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) comprehensive care measures. Review the eight components of HEDIS comprehensive diabetes care; then consider the following scenario. You are a staff nurse working in a private primary care practice. It is a small practice with 2 MDs (internists), 2 nurses, 1 medical assistant, and an office staff for billing. There are approximately 1,000 patients in the practice. You have had no EHR until the last year, but all charts are manual, historically. Your physicians are starting to inquire about quality incentives, particularly regarding patients with diabetes. By Day 3 Take on the role of the staff nurse in the scenario, and post an explanation of how you would go about finding out how many diabetics are in your practice and how many meet all 8 components of HEDIS comprehensive diabetes care. Support your response with references from the professional nursing literature. Your posts need to be written at the capstone level (see checklist). Notes Initial Post: This should be a 3-paragraph (at least 350 words) response. Be sure to use evidence from the readings and include in-text citations. Utilize essay-level writing practice and skills, including the use of transitional material and organizational frames. Avoid quotes; paraphrase to incorporate evidence into your own writing. A reference list is required. Use the most current evidence (usually ≤ 5 years old). (Refer to AWE Checklist, Capstone) By Day 7 Read two or more of your colleagues’ postings from the Discussion question. Respond to two or more of your colleagues’ postings with a critique of their data mechanisms. Explain whether the data mechanism is practical, how long it might take, any alternatives you might suggest, and/or any electronic data collection possibilities that might apply. Post a Discussion entry on three different days of the week. See the Discussion Rubric found in the Course Information area. Once Tom Friedman finished the book he thought he would be able to return to the business of being a journalist, comfortable with the ‘framework’ that he had established. Then 2007 happened and challenged his thinking. How does he explain how the year 2007 altered his “view of how the Machine worked” in his chapter “What the Hell Happened in 2007”?[I encourage you to consult a number of sources when developing your answer. For instance, Tom Friedman’s MIT Compton Lecture (Links to an external site.) [Fall 2018] and his discussion with Yuval Harari “How To Understand Our Times” (Links to an external site.) might be of utility, not just as substance for this and the following questions, but also as useful prompts to consider your own thinking on various ‘questions of our day’).] 11) Friedman draws attention to the following graph (Astro Teller graph) in his chapter “What the Hell Happened in 2007”. 11. Please explain what “we are here” actually means in this graph and using both the writings of Friedman and Harari please outline several risks of being in this position on the graph (Please be thorough with your explanation). 12. This week you will begin work on your final project. Your final project will be counted as your final exam and will consist of preparing a Global Business Plan. A link to the outline is provided below: This class strives to provide you with papers/projects that relate to real-world expectations. You will first choose a product or service (not both) and one country. This plan is specifically written for one product or service and one country – no comparison or contrasting! After you have read the guidelines, write a few paragraphs which summarize your final project idea. Submit this by the normal time on Monday but earlier would be better! Please contact me if you have any questions regarding a product/service and/or a country of choice. Take Note: for this assignment, you need to select a topic and country selection. This is for a new market entry, for a product or service, that does not yet exist in that market. This is not research of an existing product. iPhone already exists in the US and globally(WRONG). The country selection should be a country you are not familiar. Also, the product/service you select should ultimately meet the needs of the consumers in that market. If you would like to select the iPhone 12 PRO, I need you to select and profile a country where it does not yet exist.
