1. 08 The Great Pyramids – Secret in Plain Sight
a. This video shows how art and science intersect in the cultural artifacts of the past. While there are many conspiracies about how past architectural wonders were created, what makes them intriguing is how “contemporary mathematics” coincides with the dimensions of these ancient architectural structures despite the gap between the inception of each one of them. Nevertheless, these ancient masterpieces such as the Pyramids challenges humanity’s previous misconceptions about the scientific knowledge of the Ancient Egyptians. As discovered from the tombs, some of the major shafts of the tomb were pointed precisely at the stars Orion and Sirius, which is also their deities for the underworld and the afterlife. All in all, what this shows is that ancient Egyptians were capable of such impressive feats that mix both architecture and natural sciences in exquisite detail.

2. Old Kingdom: Seated Scribe

The seated scribe is one of the exciting sculptures that were made during the time of the Egyptians. This is because while the artistic culture of Ancient Egypt is usually dominated by the pictorial traditions such as that of the hieroglyphs, this particular piece was made from a stone statue having a three-dimensional structure. Aside from this, what made this interesting is the fact that this statue is different from the theme of most structures during those times, which is formal, conservative, and divine. As compared to other detailed pieces during those times, the proportions of the Seated Scribe was made to more human-like as compared to others. This could have depicted the difference between the physical characteristics of the deities (including the pharaoh) and the humans.

PARADOX SETUP There are 10 identical boxes on a shelf, each with a padlock. There is only 1 key that can open all of these 10 boxes and Stu has the key. Prof places a unique token (called a “test”) into 1 of the 10 boxes. Stu then locks them all and leaves the room. Prof can move the boxes around in any way she wants, but she must line them up on the shelf from left to right. When Stu comes back into the room, he will open the boxes from left to right. Now imagine that Stu is playing against Prof in a game. The rules are that Prof wins if she can create an algorithm (i.e., a method) to guarantee that Stu is surprised when he opens the box that contains the token. So, Stu is absolutely certain that the test is in one of the boxes and he knows that Prof wants to win the game and will do her best to surprise Stu. Stu wins the game if Prof’s algorithm does not guarantee that Stu will be surprised. • If we assume that everyone involved is perfectly rational, who will win this game, Stu or Prof? • If you think that Prof will win, provide the strategy that you think she can win with, along with an explanation for why it guarantees that Stu will be surprised. • If you think that Stu will win, explain in detail why it will be impossible for Prof to come up with any algorithm that wins with 10 boxes. Will Stu win regardless of how many boxes Prof can use? Explain. Answer section 1 (300 words), section 2 (150 words), and section 3 (150 words) This easy is essay 2 which called group essay in the requirement, it need to separate in to three section.

Country: south africa This assignment asks you to answer three questions: (1) What are the country’s main contributions to GEC (e.g. methane, CO2, biodiversity loss, soil erosion, etc.), and what are their sources (e.g. industry, deforestation, urbanization, etc.)? (2) What are the primary effects of GEC in your assigned country, and who/what is most impacted? (potential and already realized). (3) Taking (1) and (2) above together, what does your analysis tell us about questions of equity and fairness? Please note: In answering this, it is important to keep in mind that the primary effects of GEC on your assigned country are not caused solely by emissions from the country in question – emissions are produced globally, with some countries producing more than others. As you answer this question, be sure to engage with core course concepts. 3-4 pages double spaced 12 pt font. We need to research and write about a biological influence and psychological/social influence on a chosen facet of sexuality. I have attached a topics list to pick from. I would prefer the topic “pair bonding” but it is largely up the the writer based on the sources they find. We need to find four primary sources to cite to support our claims, two primary sources to support the biological influence on our facet of sexuality and two primary sources to support the the psychological/social influence. I’ve also attached assignment instructions and the rubric, and an APA guide.   PSYCH 204 HUMAN SEXUALITY Research Assignment Instructions Select one facet of human sexuality (e.g., sexual orientation, gender identity, attraction) and discuss BOTH of the following: • A biological influence on your chosen topic • A psychological or social influence on your chosen topic The purpose of this assignment is to help you develop insight into the biological, social, and psychological perspectives that inform issues of human sexuality. As we have seen, many topics in this course are multifaceted and have multiple influencing factors. Examples of topics and hints about what would make an appropriate topic are posted to D2L. The assignment is worth 16% of your final grade. Without approved documentation, late assignments will be penalized 10% per day, including weekends. Documentation must be submitted before the deadline to be considered. Citations You will need to cite two primary sources for the biological influence and two primary sources for the psychological/social influence, for a total of four primary sources. A primary source includes a book or a peer-reviewed journal article. Using a magazine (such as Scientific American) is not a proper peer-reviewed source and will not get you full marks. Do not use Wikipedia for your references, as Wikipedia is open to edit by anyone and is not peer-reviewed. Remember that you MUST cite every idea that you write about that is not your own. Even if you just cited the same source in the sentence before. When in doubt, include a citation. It is better to paraphrase an idea than to directly quote it – use direct quotes sparingly and only when they are really necessary for impact. Remember though that when you paraphrase it is still an idea from another source and it must be cited. Format The total assignment will be a maximum of four pages, not including your cover page and reference (i.e., up to six pages altogether including the cover page and reference page). Use Times New Roman, 12 pt font, double spaced. Use 1” margins on the page. You must follow proper APA formatting to get full marks (details about APA formatting are posted to D2L)

One is writing guideline and requirements. Another is my writing and the professor’s review. Please revise my writing according to guideline and review. Including but not limited to: adding words, adding new topic paragraph if need, using clear “personal experience”, better using sources, adding other sources, etc. About the original source. The latter two sources may not be extended, but must be retained. ENGLISH 1100 – COMPOSITION I WRITING PROJECT 3: WRITING WITH RESEARCH – TOPIC GUIDELINES Word count: 1,500 (about 6 pages) Grade Value: 25% Sources to be used for Writing Project #3: • Your own ideas and experiences from either your Writing Project 1 (Writing from Personal Experience) to illustrate your ideas. Topic and purpose for Writing Project #3: Topic: Looking back on the experiences you described about a community problem in Writing Project 1 (Writing from Personal Experience). In Writing Project #3, you will formulate a claim about the question and argue that claim based on personal experience and fact-based evidence. Purpose: In Writing Project #3, your question—and the answer to that question—will reflect your stance (a “claim”) on the issue you’re addressing in your essay. You will formulate and argue the claim using source material that provides fact-based evidence, and you will illustrate your claim about the issue by using your own personal experience. What Writing Project #3 is not: WP#3 is not an informative essay or a “how-to” essay. You will not address the reader directly or use source material that offers “advice” to the reader. Your essay must argue a claim about an issue. Process for Developing Writing Project #3: Develop and organize your WP3 first version: Using your outline as a template, develop your ideas to create a WP3 first version: • Create an introduction: Refer to your experience you told a story about in Writing Project #1 then transition into the broader issue that this experience raised. Ask your “main” question about the community problem and provide a thesis that states your claim in answer to the question. • Develop supporting paragraphs (from your supporting points in your outline): Introduce each supporting paragraph with a topic sentence about a specific aspect of your claim that you want to explore. After each topic sentence, present information (from your own experience and ideas and from source material, correctly cited) that expands on idea in the topic sentence. • Write a conclusion: Refer back to your experiences in Writing Project 1 and reflect on your own experience and what you learned from your research that can help your community. • Format a works cited listing to include citations for the outside sources, formatted in MLA style. • Follow guidelines for development of ideas and use and citation of source material. Wp3 first versions that do not meet the minimum word requirement (1,500 words) and do not correctly use and cite sources both in-text and in the Works Cited listing will have points deducted. Write your final version of Writing Project 3 (100 points): Based on the comments of your peer review partner(s) and the instructor as well as your own ideas for revision, you will decide if you want to revise to create a WP3 final version. WP3 final versions that do not have correctly cited sources both in-text and in the Works Cited listing will not receive a passing grade; once a final version is submitted, you will not have an opportunity to revise.

FINAL PAPER: A single image of fashionable dress, as defined by the focus of this course, will serve as the basis for exploration and analysis of both historical style and the image itself. The image both guides and focuses the paper: a successful paper consistently analyzes the period and each category through the original image. Each paper will address somewhat different topics, but for the most part will consider cultural context, designer, artist, model, materiality, etc. This assignment builds upon the skills developed in Integrative Design Studio and Seminar. Due dates are staggered throughout the semester; each component is graded separately (late work and plagiarism policies in effect for each part). Papers are to be five pages; length assumes Times New Roman or similar font (12 points) or 250 words per page, double-spaced, with a one-inch margin on all sides, and additional footnotes, illustrations, and bibliography, with formal academic structure and language. Spelling and grammar, as well as Parsons-mandated formatting (Chicago Manual of Style, Turabian, 16th edition), will be counted toward your final grade, as well as quality and number (minimum six) of sources.
