U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics – Consumer Price Index Summary

What is the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and what does it measure?

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a measurement tool used in order to chart and monitor the changes in price level of consumer goods. Each of the categories for these consumer goods are weighted using an market basket of commodities that are purchased in the household level.

Has the CPI been trending upward or downward over the past six months?

Over the past six months, the CPI for ‘all items’ experienced a downward trend from .2 to .1 and finally, to -.4 by the end of March 2020.

As you scroll down through the summary, you will see a paragraph about the price changes with Food, Energy and All items less food and energy.
What did you learn about the food index?
Based from the article, it seems that the CPI for almost all food items has experienced an increase for the past months. This suggests an inflation in almost all of the food products. However, some exceptions to this is the fruit and vegetable index that declined for 1.9% over the same observation period.
What did you learn about the energy index?

The article showed that the energy index has generally experienced a significant decline for the previous months, with the biggest decrease being 13.7% for fuel oils. Almost every other commodity in the same category experienced significant decrease, with the exception of the electricity index, which increased for 0.2% over the last 12 months. What did you learn about the index for all items less food and energy? Overall, it seems that the index for all items less food and energy has experienced an increase of 2.1% over the period of 12 months. However, its specific indexes show a variable trend since some experienced significant inclines (i.e., medical care: 4.7%) while others experienced a notable decline (i.e., airline fares: -10.6%). As compared to the previous indexes, it seems that this category is more varied in terms of trends, since it includes commodities from a more heterogenous group of industries.

One is writing guideline and requirements. Another is my writing and the professor’s review. Please revise my writing according to guideline and review. Including but not limited to: adding words, adding new topic paragraph if need, using clear “personal experience”, better using sources, adding other sources, etc. About the original source. The latter two sources may not be extended, but must be retained. ENGLISH 1100 – COMPOSITION I WRITING PROJECT 3: WRITING WITH RESEARCH – TOPIC GUIDELINES Word count: 1,500 (about 6 pages) Grade Value: 25% Sources to be used for Writing Project #3: • Your own ideas and experiences from either your Writing Project 1 (Writing from Personal Experience) to illustrate your ideas. Topic and purpose for Writing Project #3: Topic: Looking back on the experiences you described about a community problem in Writing Project 1 (Writing from Personal Experience). In Writing Project #3, you will formulate a claim about the question and argue that claim based on personal experience and fact-based evidence. Purpose: In Writing Project #3, your question—and the answer to that question—will reflect your stance (a “claim”) on the issue you’re addressing in your essay. You will formulate and argue the claim using source material that provides fact-based evidence, and you will illustrate your claim about the issue by using your own personal experience. What Writing Project #3 is not: WP#3 is not an informative essay or a “how-to” essay. You will not address the reader directly or use source material that offers “advice” to the reader. Your essay must argue a claim about an issue. Process for Developing Writing Project #3: Develop and organize your WP3 first version: Using your outline as a template, develop your ideas to create a WP3 first version: • Create an introduction: Refer to your experience you told a story about in Writing Project #1 then transition into the broader issue that this experience raised. Ask your “main” question about the community problem and provide a thesis that states your claim in answer to the question. • Develop supporting paragraphs (from your supporting points in your outline): Introduce each supporting paragraph with a topic sentence about a specific aspect of your claim that you want to explore. After each topic sentence, present information (from your own experience and ideas and from source material, correctly cited) that expands on idea in the topic sentence. • Write a conclusion: Refer back to your experiences in Writing Project 1 and reflect on your own experience and what you learned from your research that can help your community. • Format a works cited listing to include citations for the outside sources, formatted in MLA style. • Follow guidelines for development of ideas and use and citation of source material. Wp3 first versions that do not meet the minimum word requirement (1,500 words) and do not correctly use and cite sources both in-text and in the Works Cited listing will have points deducted. Write your final version of Writing Project 3 (100 points): Based on the comments of your peer review partner(s) and the instructor as well as your own ideas for revision, you will decide if you want to revise to create a WP3 final version. WP3 final versions that do not have correctly cited sources both in-text and in the Works Cited listing will not receive a passing grade; once a final version is submitted, you will not have an opportunity to revise.

Urinalysis This is a Hands-On Labs exercise that explores the characteristics of urine and what can cause those characteristics to change. You will be doing a visual inspection of urine and testing it with urinalysis test strips to assess the concentration of various compounds that may be present. Procedure Follow the directions for the Urinalysis experiment. Perform both parts: fasting and drinking distilled water. Record the data from the visual inspection and from the test strips in tables. Use that data to write a report, following the directions below for submission. **You do not need to submit the Lab Report Assistant**. Create a Report Use the following outline to describe the data from your lab in a report. Label each portion of the lab as described below. Introduction: Start with a broad discussion of urine formation, and then narrow your focus to the question(s) that you are trying to answer. Conclude the introduction with a hypothesis—a statement that reflects what you believe the outcome of this lab will be. It’s a good idea to include a discussion of how you think each characteristic of urine tested will change between the fasting and distilled water consumption parts. Material List: Identify all items that you used and the exact quantities, as applicable. This may be a very short section. Methods: Describe how you conducted the experiment, including any safety precautions you took while performing the lab. Be sure to include any changes that you made to the original instructions. Did you use different exercises? This should be a short, paraphrased version of the methods from the lab. Do not copy from the lab; Turnitin will highlight it as plagiarism. Results/Data: Create a table or a figure that reflects/compares the results of your experiment. Discussion: Review your results and determine if your experiment supports or refutes your hypothesis. Explain why. Then expand your discussion to address why and how your body creates the changes you observed as you increased the level of hydration. What effect does fasting have on the results? Be specific and give details. Conclusion: End with a section describing something that really intrigued you; identify errors that may have impacted your results, or note errors in the lab itself; and provide recommendations for future labs. Requirements: If you are doing the report, it should be 4-5 pages long, not including the title page. Reference at least two journal articles. Include a title page and references at the end. Follow the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA.

I need a one page write a mini-review answer for each of these questions double spaced. 1. The development of primary and secondary immune responses to an antigen differs significantly. The primary response may take a week or more to develop fully and establish memory. The secondary response is rapid and relies on the activation of clones of memory cells. Would it not be better if clones of reactive cells were maintained regardless of prior exposure? In this way, the body could always respond rapidly to any antigen exposure. Would there be any disadvantages to this approach? Why? 2. Jack and Jill were badly burned in an accident at the well and both were taken to the burn unit of the local hospital. The burns covered only a small area of skin so grafts were prepared for both patients from the skin of Jack’s thigh. Jack’s graft was successful and his burn healed completely. Jill, however, rejected the grafted skin. Explain the immune responses of both patients to these grafts. What treatments could have helped Jill to avoid rejection of her graft? 3. The 2018 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine is awarded to James P. Allison and Tasuku Honjo for their discovery of cancer therapy by inhibition of negative immune regulation. Please search the information from internet or literature and write a summary for each scientist’s major discovery for them to receive the Nobel Prize on medicine in 2018. How did their discovery contribute to cancer treatment? 4. What is coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)? How does COVID-19 spread and how can we prevent COVID-19? I need a 1 page personal statement for a digital media design course i plan to undertake in University (Masters Degree). Basically, this personal statement is more like an admission essay, max 500 words. I have previously completed Bachelor degree Information Technology and a Postgraduate course in Computer Science. The reason i wanted to do this (digital media design) course is I am currently working in a bank, as a project manager. There are a lot of projects that require special skills (i have the concept but applying the concept in the content will require specific skills) that I can acquire from this course, e.g. programming languages, animations, design and web application etc). Also, i failed to achieve the computer skills that i wanted to acquire (my ex-university only teach simple programming language, e.g. mainly in Java, but nothing else) in my previous University. Just 1 programming language is not sufficient to help me in my current company. This is why i wanted to acquire more computing skills this time. This is roughly want i wanted to express in the personal statement essay, you can transform it as much as you want as long as the essay can be written interestingly. I will set 10 days dateline but if you can complete it earlier, it will be better but no hurry. Thank you so much!

Choose two objects in the current chapters in your textbook that are thematically related (landscapes, portraits, religious subjects, historical monuments, etc.). Write an essay of at least 450 words using 12 point font and double-spaced text) comparing the formal treatment and iconography of each work. Be sure to identify each object by indicating the artist, title, and date of production. Your essay should address how similarities and differences contribute to your understanding of each work’s meaning or artistic significance. You should analyze these points: stylistic choices (e.g., abstract, naturalistic, idealistic, realistic), function or symbolism of the pieces (What were they used for? Do they communicate a message? Are they sacred or secular works of art), cultural context (e.g., how might the way of life at the time and place the pieces were created affected their function and style? Do historical events relate to the image or story depicted?). In addition, I expect you to refer to the course readings, including the primary readings I uploaded to BlackBoard, in the essays. You must cite at least one source that is not our text book. Use Chicago-Turabian style notation for any sources that you need to document as references in footnotes.
