Critique – Preventing Nosocomial Infections in pre-operative and post-operative adult surgical units

Introduction

Every year, about 1.7 million Americans suffer from nosocomial infections and 99,000 of them die due to these infections (PatientCareLink.Org, n.d.). This is surprising considering that nosocomial infections could be prevented through both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. In line with this, this study would focus on the recent studies about the prevention of such infections. On the one hand, the researcher would focus on a critique of a qualitative study that shows the effects of pharmacological use of antibacterial solutions towards preventing nosocomial infections. Specifically, this study conducted by Eton, et al. (2016), discusses the use of antibacterial prophylaxis, prior to surgical treatments to mitigate risks of infections. On the other hand, a qualitative study about the effects of non-pharmacological treatments would also be analyzed. In contrast to the first study mentioned, this research conducted by Cohen, et al. (2015), focuses on the use of isolation-based practices to prevent nosocomial infections. All in all, the author believes that by understanding the different methodologies (e.g., quantitative and qualitative) and approaches (e.g., pharmacological and non-pharmacological), a deeper understanding could be gained about the prevention of these Hospital Acquired Infections.

Criqitues

Quantitative

In trying to prevent nosocomial infections, a quantitative study done by Eton, et al. (2016), focuses on the use of pharmacological interventions. Their study tried to find the effects of administering antibacterial prophylaxis in preventing nosocomial infections before surgery.

There are many good and appropriate uses for technology, but not all such uses are appropriate or helpful for an organization. In the Bible it says, “So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Cor. 10:23). Computer usage policy is not meant to supersede the organization’s general policies, but rather to complement them. Therefore, based upon this week’s topics and research, create a general computer usage policy for your corporation, keeping in mind that being able to use a computer is a privilege, not a right, and this privilege comes with personal responsibility. Additionally, create a set of recommendations for group policy settings by analyzing the implications of Christian worldview in light of human value and dignity. Your final policy should be 500-750 words in length. While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

PARADOX SETUP There are 10 identical boxes on a shelf, each with a padlock. There is only 1 key that can open all of these 10 boxes and Stu has the key. Prof places a unique token (called a “test”) into 1 of the 10 boxes. Stu then locks them all and leaves the room. Prof can move the boxes around in any way she wants, but she must line them up on the shelf from left to right. When Stu comes back into the room, he will open the boxes from left to right. Now imagine that Stu is playing against Prof in a game. The rules are that Prof wins if she can create an algorithm (i.e., a method) to guarantee that Stu is surprised when he opens the box that contains the token. So, Stu is absolutely certain that the test is in one of the boxes and he knows that Prof wants to win the game and will do her best to surprise Stu. Stu wins the game if Prof’s algorithm does not guarantee that Stu will be surprised. • If we assume that everyone involved is perfectly rational, who will win this game, Stu or Prof? • If you think that Prof will win, provide the strategy that you think she can win with, along with an explanation for why it guarantees that Stu will be surprised. • If you think that Stu will win, explain in detail why it will be impossible for Prof to come up with any algorithm that wins with 10 boxes. Will Stu win regardless of how many boxes Prof can use? Explain. Answer section 1 (300 words), section 2 (150 words), and section 3 (150 words) This easy is essay 2 which called group essay in the requirement, it need to separate in to three section.

Select one of the following options to submit for the Life Skills & Content Integration Plan. Label the assignment with the title of the option you selected. Option 1: Mathematics-Oriented Career Education Planning Chart Complete the Mathematics-Oriented Career Education Planning Chart on page 358 of Math Instruction for Students with Learning Problems for your case study student. Even if your student is in elementary school, this chart is still applicable. As a teacher, you may decide some of the categories under the subdomain column, but some might be guided by the student’s interests. Use the Mathematics Content Codes on page 230 of Math Instruction for Students with Learning Problems. Note. You may reformat the chart to fit your needs as long as it is clear, organized, and contains the same headings. Option 2: Content Integration Planning Chart Create a chart similar to Figure 7.3 on page 214 of Math Instruction for Students with Learning Problems for your case study student. Decide which subject you want to integrate with mathematics to design a unit. The Unit Problem must be like the example: a question that is open ended, requiring investigation, without a set answer. This does not have to be connected to the unit plan or previous lesson ideas for your case study student. Keep in mind the difference between a concept and a skill. Note. You may reformat the chart to fit your needs as long as it is clear, organized, and contains: A Unit Problem and three questions with corresponding concepts from both mathematics and another subject. (SEE ATTACHMENT FILES) Submit a compilation of the Student Profile, Assessment Analysis, Assignment Revision and Life Skills or Content Integration Plan as a Word document by Sunday. Consider making revisions from instructor feedback of your Student Profile, Assessment Analysis, and Assignment Revision before submitting the assignment.

Our topic is “Concerns regarding the Safety of Students and faculty at the University of Maryland. ” Part II: Literature Review and Available Models and your primary research so far. (10 pages are minimum) Here you will identify and discuss resources currently available on this subject, both within the immediate context of the problem/opportunity you are addressing, as well as at large. For example, if there is already a great deal of internal documentation at the office/department/organization/company you are addressing, you can mention what these resources are, in addition to any available scholarly or other popular research. The items discussed here should be listed in your bibliography. Most importantly, you will want to identify examples of other offices/departments/organizations/companies that have encountered the same issue and who may have already developed solutions. Likely, your audience is not the first to encounter the problem you’ve identified. Who else has attempted to address the same or similar problem, and how have they gone about it? Provide Primary Research (original research) you conducted. This should include at least ONE survey and TWO-THREE interviews. (If your group has four members, you NEED THREE interviews.) Note: We already have 150+ responses from the survey. we will attach the survey. For the interview, we only have 2 interviewer’s title and name. You can come up with your own interview questions and answers to support your writing. Part III: Proposed Solution (5 pages minimum) Based on your assessment of the problem/opportunity, and the available research and models you identified, outline your solution in detail.
